John M. Morgan, M.D.

After attending the University of Alabama and graduating from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, Dr. John M. Morgan attended the University of Alabama School of Medicine where he earned his medical degree. Dr. Morgan completed his residency at Carraway Methodist Medical Center.

Special interests include treatment of obesity/bariatrics, hormone replacement therapy and robotic gynecological procedures. Dr. Morgan is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is also a diplomate of the American Society of Bariatric Physicians. Dr. Morgan has also been published in The American Journal of Bariatric Medicine. 

Dr. Morgan is one of the busiest robotic surgeons at Brookwood Medical Center, one of the top robotic centers in the United States. As a pioneer in robotic surgery at Brookwood, Dr. Morgan continues to expand his skills and the operations performed. In February, 2024, after practicing medicine for the past 38 years and delivering more than 10,000 babies, Dr. Morgan transitioned to gynecology-only practice, and he looks forward to helping patients in the many other interesting areas of women’s health.

Personal interests include art, cycling and spending time with his family.
